Scribd – A Secret Resource for Moms? While it was no secret that Scribd contain educational material related to children, such as “Lemons to Lemonade: An Anger Management Workbook for Children Under 12” and “How to Study” – an excellent primer on different learning styles, and how to adapt and accommodate them – there’s yet another section that I’ve only just discovered. And that is the “Puzzles and Games” section. What instantly leaps out on the first page of that category is the number of really great activity books for younger children. Cases in point: - I Spy With My Little Eye (JSIM I Spy Fun Sheet) - Printable Mazes for Kids - The Creative Coloring Book - Disney Coloring Pages - 4th Grade Jeopardy - Insect Finger Puppets - The Solar Energy Coloring Book And there are fun challenges for older children (and adults) too… - 3D Wooden Puzzle Plan Book - 3D Origami - Origami for Everyone - Logic Puzzles Dell Magazine - Action Replay Codes for Yugi-Oh And fantasy role-playing games; Monopoly (you play it on Excel); and miscellaneous curiosities that don’t fit into any category My personal favorite isn’t for Moms, Teachers and Tots at all… … It’s called “Kill It With Fire, a solo dice and token board game representing a harassed forum administrator”. (What busy internet entrepreneur can’t relate to that?) Mind you, the pages of the puzzle section are rife with role-playing fantasy games (and the occasional Comic book); some of which parents might feel is inappropriate for children to browse through - but then again, it would be a violation of Scribd's Terms of Service to allow a child to use the Scribd platform. However, you are perfectly free to print out and use child-oriented resources, of course. And finally if all you worn out mothers (and internet entrepreneurs) need something to wake up your brains, there is always the “Top 50 Brain Teasers and Mind Games”. These offering were found just on the 2 random pages of the Puzzles and Games category. Browsing this section was so much fun, I think I may have finally met my Scribd Nemesis!
